If you've never tried farm raised elk or yak, you are in for a treat! Both meats are low in fat and big on flavor! For healthy meat, you really cannot do better than elk and yak - red meat or otherwise! Check out the table in the photo gallery below to compare nutrition information of various meats. Additionally, both elk and yak are very efficient converters of feed, meaning they take about one third the feed input of beef to produce each pound of meat. Our meats are a healthy and environmentally sound choice!
Elk has very dark red meat with a robust flavor without any gaminess. It is tender and easy to cook. Yak is an especially unique meat due to their adaptation to the high altitudes of the Himalayas. The meat is very juicy despite being lean, making it extra succulent when cooked. Yak tastes a lot like beef, but it is so much healthier for you!
Our animals are raised on our farm in New Hampshire, are primarily grass fed and finished (we do feed some brewery spent grains, which helps keep them friendly and allows us to administer minerals), and they are never treated with hormones or unnecessary medications. All of our meat bears the USDA seal of inspection.
Cuts Available as of Nov 2024
Elk: ground, rib eye, strip steak, sirloin, chuck steak, rump steak, sirloin tip, stew, shank, bones & organs
Yak: ground, roasts, rump steak, brisket, shank, bones & organs
